These pieces aren’t your ordinary toys, which means a chance to stretch the imagination! They come with multiple shapes and colors with the unique feature of being suction toys.
Gross Motor Skills. We’ve said this with our sensory balls, but to reiterate, babies from birth begin to have an awareness of others and objects. Although the baby's most favorite toy will usually be faces, these colorful toys can be used to encourage visual exploration during tummy time or face to face play when parents come up with interesting designs with them. As they get bigger at 3-6 months, they might begin holding objects and eventually reaching for them. Presenting these colorful and interesting toys can encourage them to hold and explore more. When they begin to sit-up, they can gain postural stability, balance, and coordinate their movements while moving their hands, grasping and improving their finger dexterity.
Fine Motor Skills. This type of toy is actually more popularly advertised for occupational therapy precisely because it makes for a fun object to play with and it supports fine motor development. Imagine little hands wrapping around the stems of these toys or developing a pincer grasp to pick up the pieces Little kids will enjoying sticking and pulling the toys from smooth surfaces like the mirror, glass doors, tiles and even the refrigerator door.
Language. This toy makes a fun ”pop” sound when it’s pulled and releases. Introduce the “p-“ sound playfully while pulling them off. It can also be a great way to introduce colors as well and even encourage conversations while playing together.
Creative Play. The first play skill children engage is what we call sensory play, which uses the different senses -- sight, sounds, taste, touch, smell. This is an additional toy that might be explored by mouthing and touching. They can also use them in other ways as they are growing up, like constructing play structures, etc
Kids will naturally play and think outside the box. Providing them with open-ended toys encourages them to look for different ways to play with it. They can enhance play skills with the toy itself or jointly with other toys, while folding in activities to stimulate language and cognitive skills.
